Volunteer Committee

Help shape the future of a community service that has been here for over 40 years.
SHARE is an independent, community focused cooperative that has supported local families for more than 40 years. The amazing management and staffing team are supported by a group of parent volunteers who provide governance, oversight and guidance.
We’re now seeking four new parents to join the SHARE Parent Committee in 2026.
Why we’re inviting new members
Like many volunteer committees, our membership evolves over time. Some current members are stepping down as their children move on from SHARE, and we’re also planning ahead for future leadership roles.
Bringing new parents onto the committee helps ensure:
-
Continuity and fresh perspectives
-
Strong governance and decision‑making
-
SHARE remains a true community‑run service
What does the Parent Committee do?
The Parent Committee acts as the governing body of SHARE. SHARE is an Approved Childcare Provider.
Committee members:
-
Provide governance, oversight and strategic direction
-
Oversee policy, safety and finance
-
Support (but do not manage) day‑to‑day operations
-
Bring their voice as parents
The management team is supported by specialist OOSH advisors, HR and policy consultants, and bookkeeping support - so committee members are not expected to be experts. The role is about oversight and thoughtful decision‑making for the sustainability and quality of the service.
This is an unpaid volunteer role.
