Our Programs

At SHARE, we offer a range of programs designed to meet the needs of children at every stage of their development. Our Main Program is inclusive of all children and offers engaging, carefully planned activities accessible both in-centre and through the OWNA app for families.

We also provide two specialised programs: the Kindergarten Transition Program, designed to support our youngest students as they settle into school life, and the Year 5-6 Program, which caters specifically to the interests and needs of older children. Explore these programs by clicking the buttons below.

In addition to our main programs, we offer flexible care sessions to fit the needs of busy families:

Our Main Program

We offer a diverse range of engaging activities for both school and vacation care, thoughtfully designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and meaningful connections, all while adhering to the My Time, Our Place framework. Our programs are grounded in the principles of play theory, prioritising unstructured free play, which allows children to explore their interests in an open and flexible environment. Through self-directed activities, children are intrinsically motivated to develop new skills, make independent decisions, and engage in experiences that support their holistic growth. This approach not only nurtures their creativity and problem-solving abilities but also ensures a supportive, child-centered atmosphere where learning occurs naturally.

Creative Arts & Craft

Children can express themselves through hands-on activities like collage, painting, sculpture, origami and sewing, fostering fine motor skills and artistic expression. Many of our educators have done courses in art therapy for children, which is incorporated into our programming.

Some of our favourite craft activities have been jewelry design, unicorn dust, and making lava lamps. The children's favourites will always be the messiest and craziest- like making moon dough or oobleck.

STEM & Problem-Solving

Our program includes activities that encourage critical thinking, such as engineering challenges, structured games, and interactive projects that promote science, technology, engineering, and math skills. We have done in-house laboratory days in which we've grown crystals, done dissections and explored magnet science.

Games & Social Play

We provide the children with a variety of board games, structured team challenges, and interactive experiences help children build friendships, practice turn-taking, and develop strategic thinking. Our space is designed for children to have their own areas to lead self-play, such as the toy kitchen area, construction corner, or our Lego area.

Each session is thoughtfully planned to ensure a balance of fun, learning, and relaxation, with options for all interests and energy levels.

Outdoor & Active Play

We prioritize movement and teamwork with a variety of group games, skill-based challenges, and free play, helping children build coordination, resilience, and social skills. Some of the children's favourites are Catch the Dragons Tail, Drip Drip Drop, Toilet Tag, and of course - soccer.

Cooking & Life Skills

Children have the chance to learn practical skills through simple cooking experiences and hands-on projects that build confidence and independence. We facilitate a variety of hands-on culinary experiences for children, such as baking carrot muffins and gingerbread, preparing fresh spring rolls, and hosting a 'Kitchen Takeover' day, where children took the lead in preparing food for a parent picnic in the park. Additionally, we've had a 'Food from Around the World' cooking event, allowing children to explore and create diverse dishes from different cultures.

Gardening

Directly in front of our building is the Summer Hill Community Garden, which contains herbs and vegetables as well as edible and pest repellent flowers. We've been kindly allocated our own crop bed for the children to learn the ins and outs of gardening, in which we will be planting various flowers and different veggies to hopefully use in an afternoon tea dish in the future.
