FOOD and NUTRITION

We love food! We provide delicious and nutritious meals for breakfast before 8:15am, and afternoon tea each day, along with regular opportunities for the children to get involved in cooking activities.

Food during Vacation Care

Children must bring their own recess, lunch each day and plenty of water to drink whilst we are out on excursions. On vacation care days with no excursion planned, we offer lunch orders from a range of Summer Hill shops - simply place your order before 10am after signing in your child/ren and we will add the cost to your fortnightly fees invoice.

Dietary requirements

Our menus accommodate children's medical and cultural food requirements. Families must inform us about their children's needs upon enrolment and update SHARE in writing as soon as possible if there are any changes. For children with allergies, anaphylaxis or intolerances, we require a copy of children's Action Plan/s and these must be updated when changes occur or annually / biannually, as specified in their action plans and health care plan. For more details, please refer to our enrolment information and policies.

Health and hygiene

SHARE follows the requirements of National Regulations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Staff also work closely with the children to teach them about good hygiene practices when it comes to food, including hand washing and keeping the SHARE kitchen, bathrooms and play spaces healthy and safe for everyone.
